This is how my desktop looks like. I am running Ubuntu Gutsy Gibbon (7.10) and Gnome platform. I have been using Ubuntu for 3 years now and it is my all-time favourite operating system. It is easy to install, user-friendly, looks good, is fast and has almost everything that I need for my day to day work.

Hi Varun
It seems that you have HP Pavilion dv 9502 au laptop with Ubuntu 7.10.
I have the same machine as you have with Ubuntu 7.04 (Feisty Fawn, yes that is little bit older version of Ubuntu). But now I wish to upgrade it to Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy Heron). Can you please help me with following queries:
1. What is the process of upgrading to Hardy Heron from Feisty form a CD? Can I install it over the Feisty, like putting Hardy CD in and follow on screen instruction as if there was no previous Ubuntu installation?
2. I cannot upgrade to Hardy via Internet (WiFi Never worked on Feisty and Dialup conn is too slow) so if I go ahead with installing Hardy over Feisty will I loose my all of the installed programs(JDK, Mono, VLC etc.) and the data?
3. Important question will Hardy be able to configure NVIDIA graphics card, because for Feisty I have to download a driver file for AMD-64 architecture from NVIDIA driver ftp site?
Thanks in advance for helping a fellow Ubuntu enthusiast
Regards
Arun
